A loving father, grandfather, husband and brother
Clyde E. Wykoff, age 84, passed away peacefully August 15, 2024. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 50 years, Anna Agathe (Hata/Hertha) Wykoff, who passed in 2011. He is survived by his two daughters, Patty Bischoff (Bart) and Kathy Smith, and his six grandchildren, Justen, Nickolaus, Alexandrea, Cody, Matthew, and Cameron and sister Bonnie Wykoff-Sovak (Eric).
Clyde was born on May 10, 1940, in Barberton, Ohio, to the late Harold and Freda (Wilson) Wykoff. He graduated from Kenmore High School and joined the US Army shortly thereafter where he served in Germany for three years. This is where he met and married his beloved wife of 50 years Anna Agathe (Hata/Hertha) Müller in Marburg, Germany. After his discharge from the army, Clyde and Hata returned together to Ohio, where they began their life and family together.
Clyde worked as an Extrusion Operator at the Norton/Saint-Gobain companies for 30+ years, until his retirement. He was a hard-working, loyal employee and dedicated to his family as a husband and father. He was also a member of the American Legion and the Veterans of Foreign Wars, Mogadore Moose Lodge and German Family Society.
In his younger days, Clyde enjoyed the outdoors camping, fishing, and fun with a close nit group of family, friends and neighbors on many excursions to Mogadore Lake, Salt Fork and Cadiz. Clyde will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all who knew him. He was a kind, generous, and loving person, who touched many lives. He will be remembered for his sense of humor and his heart as he was a true blessing to his family.
The family would like to thank the kindness and care provided by the Pebble Creek Healthcare Center and all the caretakers who cared for him and made him comfortable during his final days.
