Cora "Millie" Wade

Heaven gained an angel September 11, 2022 when Cora “Millie” Wade transitioned to Heaven. Born in Akron to the late Russell and Muriel (Rorick) Hastler, Millie was a long-time active member of Emmanuel UCC and was a wonderful mother and grandmother, always caring for others before herself. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Sanford; sisters, Stella and Evelyn; and brother, Cliff. She is survived by her children, Melissa (Dennis) Sheppard, Mildred Jean (Gene) Jones, Phyllis Boice, Vera Lynn Dennis, Sandra Clayton and James (Carmen) Stark Jr.; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and brothers, Jerry and Tom Hastler. Special thanks to Ed, Tiffany and Heather for their help during Millie’s illness. The funeral service will be held on Tuesday, September 20, 2022 at 1 p.m. at the Eckard Baldwin Funeral Home and Chapel, 760 E. Market St., with Rev. Steven Lashbrook officiating. Calling hours will be at the funeral home for two hours prior to the service, from 11 am – 1 pm, with burial at Hillside Memorial Park.
