F. Curtis Minier, 84, passed away peacefully March 4, 2015. He was born in Mogadore, OH to the late William and Mildred (Sweeney), earned a degree from the Hammel Business College and retired from First Merit with 40 years of service.
Curt was an active member of Wedgewood United Methodist Church since 1950 and was recently presented his 60-year pin from the Coventry-Akron Masonic Lodge # 83. He was a member of Kiwanis, Eastern Star # 245, AASR, the Shrine, Grotto and the Falls Chapter Royal Arch Mason 225. He was also an avid golfer and bowler and will be deeply missed.
Preceded in death by his brother, Clair, Curt is survived by his wife of 64 years, Patricia; children, Rick (Vicki), Denise (Dan) Gourley and Kathy (Mike) Summers; grandchildren, Paul (Lindsay), Daniel III (Rachael), Soozi, Joe (Shannon), Marissa, Madison and Cyndi (Kevin); 7 great-grandchildren; and many loving relatives and friends.
The funeral service will be held on Friday, March 6, 2015 at 1 p.m. at Wedgewood United Methodist Church, 2350 Wedgewood Dr., Akron, OH 44312 with Pastor Joe Burkhardt officiating. Calling hours will be at the church for two hours prior to the service, from 11 am – 1 pm, with a Masonic service at 12 noon. Interment at Hillside Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Wedgewood United Methodist Church in Curt’s memory.
