Diana L. Burns

Diana L. Burns, 73, passed away August 14, 2021. She was born in Akron to the late William and Mary (Habig) Rees, was an East Hight School graduate and earned a degree from the University of Akron. She retired from the Department of Jobs and Family Services with over 20 years of service as a case worker.

Diana had a great sense of humor and cherished being an “antique” for her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She loved Christmas, fishing and gambling, and she will be deeply missed.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her grandson, Christopher Lent and brother, Charles Rees. She is survived by her daughter, Tricia (fiancée Gilbert); grandchildren, Melissa (John) McCune and Cassie (Michael); great-grandchildren, Jonathan, Aydyn and Alannah; sister, Lisa Rees (Bernie); brother, Benjamin (Linda) Rees; beloved cats, Gizmo, Peaches and Smokey and dog, Coco; and many other loving relatives.

Calling hours will be held on Thursday, August 19, 2021 from 4 – 6 p.m. at the Eckard Baldwin Funeral Home and Chapel, 760 E. Market St.
