Diane Marie (Hoover) Popiel

Diane Marie (Hoover) Popiel, 74, passed away March 9, 2021. She was born in Akron to the late Richard and Elnora (Hill) Hoover, was a 1965 graduate of Garfield High School and had worked as a nurses aide for Sunrise Home Healthcare. She is survived by her children, Sheri, Michael, Kelli and Steven; grandchildren, Jessica, Emily, Tyler, Elayna and Jackson; great-grandson, Brody (and one on the way); brothers, Fred (Carol) Hoover and Rick (Annie) Hoover; and special friends, Barb and Larry Kennedy, Jean Bazzell and Carol Brown. The family would like to extend their sincere thanks to the staff of Green Village Nursing Home and Ohio Living Hospice. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, March 13, 2021 at 1 p.m. at the Eckard Baldwin Funeral Home and Chapel, 760 E. Market St., with Pastor Brenda Young officiating. Calling hours will be at the funeral home for two hours prior to the service, from 11 a.m. – 1 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Humane Society of Summit County.
