Dolores L. Clifford

Dolores L. Clifford, 95, passed away peacefully at home April 22, 2023. She was born in Akron to the late William and Lula (Wagner) Collins. She was a long-time member of Wedgewood United Methodist Church, had worked as a banquet manager and belonged to the Moose Chapter 852.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, William; grandson, Brett Brumbaugh; son-in-law, Don Mills; brother, Thomas Collins; and sister, Mary Mays. She is survived by her daughters, Mary Mills, Diana (Paul) Hoffman and Suzette (Kristopher) Varney; grandchildren Bryan (Barbara), Brad, Douglas (Tracy), Christine (Robert), Cameron, Donald, Daniel and Darin; “adopted” grandson, Bryan (Emily) Bowman; great-grandchildren, Keith, Kelly, Jacob, Josh, Jillian, Alex, Mitchell, Nicholas and Alivia; and other loving relatives and friends.

The family would like to express a special thanks to Traditions Hospice, especially Heather and Ashley.

A memorial service will be held on Friday, April 28, 2023 at 6:00 p.m. at Wedgewood United Methodist Church, 2350 Wedgewood Drive, Akron, OH 44312 with Pastor Joe Burkhardt officiating. Calling hours will be at church for one hour prior to the service, from 5 – 6 p.m. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Wedgewood United Methodist Church in memory of Dolores. She will be laid to rest alongside her husband Bill at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery at a later date.
