Dorotha B. Lohr, 84, formerly of Akron, OH, passed away peacefully Tuesday, September 13, 2011. Dorotha was born on May 18, 1927 in Akron, OH to William (Bill) and Ida McKinney. Dorotha married her true love Skip Lohr on November 5, 1955, and enjoyed 55 years of marriage with him. Together they had two children, a daughter Robbie Lynn, and a son Gary Woodrow II. Skip and Dorotha lived most of their life in Akron, and then resided in Covington, GA the last 18 years.
Dorotha is preceded in death by her husband, her parents, and sister, Marguerite Moore. Dorotha is survived by her daughter and son in-law, Robbie and Jeff Folk of Akron; son Gary (Woody) Lohr II and life partner, Jim Dellinger of Winston-Salem, NC; two grandchildren, Kevin and Jessica Folk; sister and brother in-law, Wanda and Les Holloway; as well as many nieces and nephews. Dorotha was a devoted and loving wife, mother, grandmother and aunt, and will be missed by all that knew her.
The funeral service will be Saturday, September 17, 2011, at 1:00 p.m., at the Eckard Baldwin Sanctuary Chapel, 760 E. Market St. The family will receive friends ONE HOUR prior to the service from 12:00 p.m. until 1:00 p.m.
