Dorothy L. Gorby

Dorothy L. Gorby, 94, passed away January 26, 2023. She was born in New Straitsville, OH to the late Vernon and Gladys (Lang) Thompson and was a member of Tallmadge Church of Christ.

Learning from her mother, Dorothy was a talented seamstress. She also loved gardening, traveling and her family. She will be deeply missed.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sons, Mark and Drew, and sisters, Oletta and Leota. She is survived by her husband of 75 years, Paul; niece and caregiver, Brenda (Craig) Devies; and many other loving relatives.

The funeral service will be held on Wednesday, February 1, 2023 at 1 p.m. at the Eckard Baldwin Funeral Home and Chapel, 760 E. Market St., Akron, OH 44305. Calling hours will be at the funeral home for one hour prior to the service, from 12 – 1 p.m. with burial at Greenlawn Memorial Park.
