Dorothy M. Greenwald, 92, passed away December 26, 2011. She was born in Barberton to the late Levi and Frances (Nagle) Helmstedter and was a lifelong area resident. She was a 1937 graduate of Coventry High School, was a member of Alliance First Presbyterian Church and enjoyed trips to Florida with her husband. She was devoted to her family and will be deeply missed.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 63 years, George. She is survived by her sons, Garry (Beth), of Atwater and Richard (Kate), of Cincinnati; brother, George (Peg) Helmstedter; grandchildren, Greg, Stacey, Melissa (Jeff) Erskine, Amy (Nathan) Mesmer and Mark (Dawn); and 10 great-grandchildren.
The funeral service will be held on Thursday, December 29, 2011 at 11 a.m. at the Eckard Baldwin Sanctuary Chapel, 760 E. Market St. with Rev. Karen Hartley officiating. Entombment at Greenlawn Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at the funeral home for one hour prior to the service, from 10 – 11 a.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association 70 W.
