Douglas Lee Schindler

Douglas Lee Schindler, 52, passed away January 14, 2025. He was born in Leesburg, FL and spent his entire life in the Akron area. He was a Springfield High School graduate and had worked for Concrete Cutting Systems. He had also spend many years as a truck driver and was skilled in so many ways.

Doug was an avid hunter and outdoorsman and loved animals, especially dogs.  He loved going to the family farm with friends and always wanted to retire there someday.  He had a great passion for racing and loved watching the NHRA.  He had regularly traveled to local events, but had been to tracks all over the country.  He was also a skilled mechanic and enjoyed working on almost anything. He will be deeply missed.

Preceded in death by his father, Fritz, he is survived by his mother, Pauline; son, Douglas Jr. (Leslie); siblings, Fred (Sally), Kim (Scott) and Randy; and many other loving relatives and friends.

Per his wishes, cremation has taken place.
