Edward R. “Eddie” Bee, 78, passed away October 12, 2014. He was born in Akron to the late Ordell and Anna (Coward) and was a lifelong resident where everyone seemed to know him and he knew them, even if he couldn’t always remember a name. Despite never having any children or grandchildren, he always referred to himself as “Grandpa”.
Eddie spent his younger years working in Weaver programs and attended Camp Christopher. After leaving Weaver, he worked at many County Board Centers. Work was extremely important to him and even in his later years when he had good reason to stop, he refused to retire.
He will be greatly missed by his brother, Wayne (Evelyn); niece Nancy (Douglas) Peteya; half-sisters, Nancy Mamone and Barbara Wilmot; and many friends through Weaver and REM Corp.
The family would like to thank Summa Hospice, Heather Knoll and Eddie’s roommate John, who looked out for him the last few weeks.
The funeral service will be held on Wednesday, October 15, 2014 at 12 noon at the Eckard Baldwin Sanctuary Chapel, 760 E. Market St. Calling hours will be for one hour prior to the service, from 11 am – 12 noon. Burial at Hillside Memorial Park.
