Edward Earl Glomski, who died after a short illness on June 1, 2017 in Warren, Ohio at the age of 61, was named after his grandfather, the son of Polish immigrants who had settled in Minnesota.

Edward Earl (known affectionately as “the Pearl”) was born in Royal Oak, Michigan on July 21, 1955 and came to live in Akron with his family as a boy. He attended St. Sebastian’s School and graduated from Firestone High School. He served in the U.S. Navy for two years, took classes at the University of Akron, and trained as an electronics technician. His hobbies were fishing, which he learned from his father and grandfather, book collecting, painting, and writing poetry. He edited Integra, the magazine of the Intertel Society.

He will be sincerely missed by his daughter Hannah and her partner Jason, by his brothers Gregory and Joseph and his sister Jacqueline, his nieces and nephews, and the rest of his large, extended family.

Calling hours will be held on Tuesday, June 6, 2017 from 4 – 7 p.m. at the Eckard Baldwin Funeral Home and Chapel, 760 E. Market St. The funeral service will be at the funeral home on Wednesday, June 7 at 10 a.m. with Pastor Joseph Burkhardt officiating. Interment at Rose Hill Burial Park where American Legion Post #281 will perform military honors.
