Edward F. Herbruck, 88, of Mogadore, OH passed away Tuesday, August 1, 2017. He was born in Akron to the late Arthur and Hallie (Dickerhoff) Herbruck and was a graduate of South High.
Ed met his wife Bessie while serving in the U.S. Air Force. He returned to the Akron area to raise his family and retired from the Akron Public School System with over 25 years of service. An active member of Wedgewood United Methodist Church, he served as youth group leader and also volunteered at Edwin Shaw Rehabilitation Services.
Edward was preceded in death by his wife, Bessie; and daughter, Carol Mascio. He is survived by sons, David (Debbie) and Jim (Beth); daughter, Betty (Bob) Heft, nine grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, August 5, 2017 at Wedgewood United Methodist Church, 2350 Wedgewood Dr., at 10:00 a.m. with Pastor Joseph Burkhardt officiating. Private burial will be held at Greenlawn Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Wedgewood UM Church or the Mogadore EMT.
