Ed was born in Cleveland to the late Edwin B. and Mary A. (Baker), was a 1972 graduate of Kent State University and was a U.S. Navy veteran. He served the Lord in ministry throughout his life, spending many years at The Chapel at Fir Hill, served on staff with Students for Christ at Akron University and Marshall University, and served the last 20 years with The Navigators in Russia, Estonia, and most recently, Kent State University.
Ed is survived by his sister, Dorothy Brown, of Matteson, IL; brother, Stewart Tubbs, of Ann Arbor, MI; 3 nieces; one nephew; and a host of friends and spiritual family.
Calling hours will be held on Wednesday, March 9, 2016 from 5 – 7 p.m. at Grace Baptist Church in Kent, 5915 Rhodes Rd., Kent, OH 44240 where the funeral service will be held immediately following at 7 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Kent State Navigators c/o 727 Ivan Dr, Kent, OH 44240.
