Elizabeth S. (Johnson) O'Connell

December 27, 1964 — February 13, 2015

Elizabeth Johnson O’Connell, 50, slipped away gracefully February 13, 2015, going home to be with her Lord.

Beth was born in Akron on December 27, 1964 and lived a full life in Jackson Township and Akron, graduating from Akron Christian School. She most recently was employed at Infocision and prior to that, spent many years at Acxiom. Among other things, she found great joy in animals, singing, and her Cleveland sports teams.

She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Joe and Ola Bolinger and Jess and Marion Johnson, and parents-in-law, Kevin and Joan O’Connell. She leaves behind scores of loved ones to mourn the loss of her smile. They include her husband, Christopher O’Connell; children, Jordan and Joelle Remmy; step-daughter Kayla O’Connell; mother, Pat (Hal) Morgan; father, Terry (Shirley) Johnson; sister, Karen (Eric) Prayner; uncle Joe Bolinger; aunt Karen Scorzino; step-sisters, Darlene Morgan, Chris (Pat) McAllister, Sherri Fleming, and Terri Todarello; step-brother Jack Battle; and her darling grandson, Ethan Stephens-Remmy. She was also loved by many nieces and nephews including Allison, Emily, Isabelle, Katie, Rusty, Josh, Kelly, Kara, A.J., Katie, Maddie, and Claire; and her brothers and sisters-in-law Tim and Nancy, O.C and Erin, and Holly and Dennis.

Calling hours will be Wednesday, February 18, 2015 from 4 – 7 pm at the Eckard Baldwin Funeral Home & Chapel, 760 E. Market St, Akron, OH 44305. The funeral service will be held on Thursday, February 19 at 12:00 pm at Riverside Alliance Church, 2433 S. Main St, Akron, OH 44319 with Pastor Nevin Wiest officiating. Friends may also call for one hour prior to the service, from 11 am – 12:00 p.m. Interment at Greenlawn Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Beth’s name to Hospice of Visiting Nurse Service, 3358 Ridgewood Rd, Akron, OH 44333 or Riverside Alliance Church.
