Elizabeth R. Kosier “Dude” “Nana”, 90, passed away September 1, 2011. She was born in Brimfield to the late George and Irene (Guithier) Marks and was a lifelong area resident. She was a Marine Corps veteran of World War II, retired from Ohio Bell with 30 years of service, belonged to the Ohio Bell Pioneers Club and was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church. Mrs. Kosier also loved traveling and gardening, and she was a renowned card shark.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Karl; sisters, Beatrice, Vera and Margaret; and brothers, Paul and Charles. She is survived by her daughters, Lia (Dave Brendle) King and Karla (John) Martz; grandchildren, Greg, Jessica (Chris) and Shelby; great-granddaughters, Alyssa, Tyler, Madison and Cameryn; sister, Helen (Buzz) Merold; special parrot, Peaches; and many other loving relatives.
The funeral service will be held on Wednesday, September 7, 2011, at 11 a.m. at the Eckard Baldwin Sanctuary Chapel, 760 E. Market St., with Rev. John G. Eiwen officiating. A military service will follow at 1 p.m. at the Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery, 10175 Rawiga Rd. in Rittman. Calling hours will be at the funeral home on Tuesday, September 6, from 4 – 7 p.m.
