Emma L. Callihan passed away, April 10, 2011, one week after celebrating her 100th birthday. Born in Ashville, NC, she lived in the Akron area for 90 years. Mrs. Callihan was a member of the First Church of God in Tallmadge since 1933, and she retired from Summit County Children Services with many years service as a clinical aid. She was also an avid bowler, participating in three different leagues.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 41 years, Lionel, and granddaughter, Linda Richards. She is survived by her daughters, Wilda (Earl) Gallion and Patricia Wolcott; 6 grandchildren and a host of great and great-great grandchildren.
The funeral service will be Thursday, April 14, 2011, at 12:00 p.m., at the Eckard Baldwin Sanctuary Chapel, 760 E. Market St., with Pastor Douglas Walter officiating. Interment at Hawley Cemetery in Wayland, Ohio. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday for ONE HOUR prior to the service, from 11 - 12 p.m.
