Evelyn Virginia (Frock) Simich

February 17, 1930 — September 25, 2015

Evelyn Virginia (nee Frock) Goff Goldsmith Simich, 85, passed away September 25, 2015.

She was born to Edgar Winfield Frock and Mary Ethel (Reneer) Frock. She was predeceased by her beloved parents and dear daughters, Linda Goff Rainski (July 12, 1998), Judy Kay Goff Cappo (April 11, 2015); infant sister, Ann Frock; brothers, Randolph Frock, Glenn Frock, Clarence Frock, Clifford Frock, Kenneth Frock; and husbands, James Goff, Franklin Goldsmith and Nicholas Simich.

Evelyn is survived by her brothers, Dallas Frock (Marge) and Robert Frock (Maxine); sister, Marie Hendershot (Larry) and her daughters, Shirley Goff Simon and Pamela Goldsmith Elefritz; son-in-law, Randy Cappo of Kernersville, NC; grandchildren, Stephen Rainski, Rhonda Rainski Elmert, James (Craig Libman) Simon, James Cappo, Jason Cappo, Erin (Sean Barton) Elefritz, Gary Elefritz, and Ryan Elefritz; great-grandchildren, Kenny Rainski, Dakota Elmert, Nathan Elmert, Lucas Elmert and Easton Barton; and great-great grandchildren, Lilly and James.

She was born a farm girl and remained one at heart for the rest of her life. She shared wonderfully funny stories of her childhood and loved living on the farm with her parents and big extended family on Pickle Road in Springfield Township. Evelyn attended Springfield High School and enjoyed reunions with high school chums and her dear Acme family.

Evelyn retired in 1993 after 42 years of service with F.W. Albrecht Grocery Company. She enjoyed getting together with Acme retirees, gardening, traveling and spending time with her family. Evelyn was a wonderful cake baker and loved to share her treats over a cup of coffee or tea with friends and neighbors.  She lived at Rockynol for the last few years of her life after suffering a debilitating stroke in November, 2012.

Calling hours will be held on Monday, September 28, 2015, from 4 – 7 p.m. at the Eckard Baldwin Funeral Home & Chapel, 760 E. Market St. The funeral service will be at the funeral home on Tuesday, September 29 at 10 a.m. with Rev. Linda Hoover officiating. Burial at East Liberty Cemetery.

The family would like to thank the dedicated caregivers at Rockynol and the loving angels from Visiting Nurse Hospice and suggests donations to the charity of your choice.
