Evelyn J. Stein, 96, passed away October 17, 2016. She was born in Akron to the late William and Miriam (Spidle) Hahn and was a member of Grandview United Methodist Church. She was also a member of the Patterson Park + 50 Club and the Generettes.
Evelyn loved flowers, to work in her yard, and to watch the Indians and golf. Her favorite players were Arnold Palmer and Fred Couples.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Russell; sister, Roberta Abram; and brother, David Hahn. She is survived by her daughter, Sherrie (Michael) Petrochuk; granddaughter, Emily; sister, Mildred Short; special niece, Margie (Al) Dietz; and many other nieces, nephews and friends.
Calling hours will be held on Thursday, October 20, 2016 from 4 – 6 p.m. at the Eckard Baldwin Funeral Home and Chapel, 760 E. Market St. The funeral service will be held at the funeral home on Friday, October 21, 2016 at 11 a.m., with Pastor Paula Koch officiating. Interment at Hillside Memorial Park.
