Gary Theiss Sr.

Gary W. Theiss Sr., 67, passed away September 14, 2021. He was born in Brazil, IN and lived in Barberton and Akron his whole life. He retired from BR Johnson Cleaning Service with 26 years of service and loved fishing, Willie Nelson and his family. He will be deeply missed.

Gary was preceded in death by his parents, Lucille (Lucas) and Earl Theiss, and brothers, Delbert Lucas and James Robert Lucas. He is survived by his children, Kathy (Bennie) Duncan, Lisa Theiss (D’Shane Shavers) and Gary W. Theiss Jr.; grandchildren, Cody Theiss, Hannah Duncan, Bennie Duncan Jr., Joey Whitecloud, Alexis Miller and D’Shane Shavers Jr.; great-granddaughter, Hazel Miller; best friend and mother of his children, Phyllis Sheppard; sister, Edith; nieces and nephews, James (Nicky), Gincie, Violet, Nancy (Jason), Susan and Christine; and lil’ bro, Garry Lee (Bonnie) Burns.

The funeral service will be held on Monday, September 20, 2021 at 12 noon at the Eckard Baldwin Funeral Home and Chapel, 760 E. Market St. Calling hours will be at the funeral home for two hours prior to the service, from 10 a.m. – 12 noon, with burial at Greenlawn Memorial Park.
