George "Art" Gruver

George "Art" Gruver, 64, passed away June 6, 2018, less than a month after his beloved wife of 33 years, Ruth, passed.

Art retired from the City of Akron after almost 30 years of service as a treatment plant mechanic. He loved animals and was an outgoing and likeable man who will be missed.

In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by his mother, Katherine Gruver and sister, Candace Hopkins. He is survived by his long-time friend and executor, Steven Turner, and many other loving relatives and friends.

Calling hours will be held on Sunday, June 10, 2018 from 1 - 3 p.m. at the Eckard Baldwin Funeral Home and Chapel, 760 E.  Market St. A graveside service will be on Monday, June 11 at 11 a.m. at Greenlawn Memorial Park with Pastor Steven Turner officiating.
