George L. Markley

George L. Markley, 64, passed away June 4, 2024. He was born in Erie, PA and was a proud veteran of the United States Air Force.

George worked for over 30 years at Joshen Paper and Packaging and loved the outdoors, especially fishing and golf. He helped coach his daughter's softball team and was a Cub Scout Den leader for his son's troop when they were younger. He was a dedicated husband, father and grandfather and will be deeply missed.

Preceded in death by his father, Lloyd and brother, Rick, he is survived by his mother, Dorothy; wife, Peggy; children, Nichelle and Elliot-Micheal; grandchildren, Kaiden and Ivana; sister, Bonnie; and brother, Dale.

A graveside service with military honors will be held on Friday, June 14, 2024 at 10:15 a.m. at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery, 10175 Rawiga Rd., Seville, OH 44273. An open house  celebration of life will be held on Saturday, June 22 from 4 - 8 p.m. at 2565 Newton St., Akron, OH 44305. Feel free to bring a side dish or dessert should you desire.
