George A. Racheck, 59, passed away July 31, 2013. He was born in Cleveland to the late George and Betty Jane (Skulina) Racheck, lived in Ravenna for 25 years and Akron for 14 years. George had a passion for horses and worked at Thistledown for 30 years. He started as a groomer and worked his way up to assistant starter.
He is survived by his wife of 39 years, Karen; children, Gail and David; grandchildren, Tyler, Dylan, Greg, Isaiah, Mariah, Gina and Antonio; sister, Donna (Tim) Taylor; and nephew and niece, Josh and Larissa.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, August 3, 2013, at 11:00 a.m., at Crusade Baptist Church, 2982 Copley Rd. with Pastor Max McKanna officiating.
