Gertrude "Trudy" L. Tate

Gertrude L. “Trudy” Tate, 66, passed away March 25, 2022. She was born in Ravenna, OH to the late Mary Lou (Finney) and Richard Overdorf and was a Kenmore High School graduate. She worked at the American Legion, Little Forrest Nursing Home and owned Trudy’s Daycare for many years.

Trudy was an amazing mother and grandmother who always put her family first and loved us unconditionally. She will be deeply missed.

Preceded in death by her sister, Donna Patterson, she is survived by her daughters, Stephanie (Mike) and Candy VanPelt; grandchildren, Angel’leanna (Jaywan Peace), Camren, Jace, Danielle, Dustin, Poole (Sarah) and Aaliyah; great-grandchildren, Kairi, Teagan, Lucy and Dustyn; sisters, Nikki (Robert) Abels and Barb; 8 nieces and nephews; and many other loving relatives and friends.

The funeral service will be held on Thursday, April 7, 2022 at 11 a.m. at the Eckard Baldwin Funeral Home and Chapel, 760 E. Market St. Calling hours will be at the funeral home for one hour prior to the service, from 10 – 11 a.m., with burial at Standing Rock Cemetery.
