Helen Stevens Fatiguso, 92, passes away August 30, 2011.  Born December 15, 1918 in Akron, Ohio, she graduated from East High School.  Along with husband Steve, she owned and operated Stevens Photo Studio for 40 years.  After the death of Steve, Helen began selling real estate retiring in 1995.

In 1983 Helen married Paul Fatiguso.  For years, Helen & Paul were members of Goodrich Retirees and Patterson Park Seniors, where she served as president for 10 years.  She was a member of Springfield Baptist Church for approximately 80 years, singing in the choir and serving on the music board in recent years.

Preceded in death by parents, Lindsay and Edna (Martin) Chatman; brothers and sister-in-law, Alvin Chatman and Lester (Josephine) Chatman; husbands, Milburn “Steve” Stevens and Paul Fatiguso; and grandson, Carl “Buddy” Whetstone III.

She is survived by daughter, Janet (Carl) Whetstone; grandchildren, Heather (Davis) Miller of Akron, Edward (Lori) Whetstone of Akron, Laurel (Mike) Breckenridge of Wooster; eight great-grandchildren; brother, Chester Chatman of NJ; sister-in-law, Evelyn Chatman of Stow; and many loving nieces and nephews.

The funeral service will be Friday, September 2, 2011, at 11:00 A.M., at the Eckard Baldwin Sanctuary Chapel, 760 E. Market St., with Rev. Larry Baldridge officiating.  Interment at Chestnut Hill Cemetery.  The family will receive friends at the funeral home TODAY Thursday, September 1, from 6 to 8.
