Helen F. Lowe, 91, passed away February 23, 2016. Born in Orbisonia, PA on April 5, 1924 to Herbert and Edna (Heath) Scott, she resided in Akron since 1959. Helen retired from First National Bank of Akron and since 1963 had been a member of The Chapel, where she taught Sunday School and volunteered in the library. She also belonged to the Eastern Star Fernleaf Chapter #422 and the Firestone Park AARP #1715, serving as former Treasurer. Helen loved her church and all of her family, friends and neighbors. In addition to her parents, Helen was preceded in death by her husband, Richard S. Lowe, Sr.; brother, Glenn Scott; and faithful companion, James Dean, Jr. She is survived by step-children, Richard (Lynne) Lowe, Jr. and Cynthia (Yukis) Kataoka; step-grandchildren, Erik, Kelly Lynne and Elizabeth; sister, Ella Grace Courtright; and the Dean family, her adopted family. The funeral service will be Monday, February 29 at 11:00 a.m. at the Eckard Baldwin Funeral Home & Chapel, 760 E. Market St., with Pastor Steve Bucy officiating. Friends may call for ONE HOUR prior to the service from 10 - 11 a.m. Interment at Rose Hill Burial Park.
