"Larry" Homer H. Lawrence Jr., 76, passed away November 13, 2017. He was born in Akron to the late Homer and Emma Mae (DeVore), was a proud Army veteran and retired from Chrysler with 40 years of service.
Larry was the most generous person anyone could ever know. He was always taking care of others, never thinking of himself, and would literally give you the shirt off his back. He will be deeply missed.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Jeannette and son, Bryant. He is survived by his daughters, Teresa (James) Sano, Melissa Dodge and Carla (Rodney) Long; sons, Charles Powell and Larry Lawrence; 14 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren; lifelong friend and confidant Linda Willey; and many other loving relatives and friends.
Calling hours will be held on Thursday, November 16, 2017 from 5 - 7 p.m. at the Eckard Baldwin Funeral Home and Chapel, 760 E. Market St. The funeral service will be at the funeral home on Friday, November 17 at 11 a.m. with Pastor Jim Gindlesberger officiating. Interment at Hillside Memorial Park, where military honors will be held by Firestone VFW Post #3383. Condolences may be sent to 251 Goodview Ave., Akron, OH 44305.
