Jack Elmer Vogel, 76, passed away March 2, 2017. He was born in Erie, PA on May 14, 1940 to the late Jacob and Marian (Spiringer) Vogel and moved to Akron in 1973.
Preceded in death by his wife, Elin Ann Berg, Jack is survived by his son, Mat (Carie), of Akron; daughter, Lorelei (Raymond), of St. Francisville, LA.; son, Jeffrey (Ruth) of Roseville, CA.; son, Gregory (Angie) of Longwood, FL.; nine grandchildren; sister-in-law, Paula Degenhart of Erie, PA.; and nieces, Katie Geer and Mary Degenhart, both of Erie, PA.
Jack joined the US Navy shortly after graduating from Erie Technical High School in 1958. He worked for the Lord Corp. in Erie, PA for eight years before moving to Ohio where was a Quality Assurance Specialist and Supporting Program Integrator with the Defense Contract Management Agency for 25 years, retiring in 2003.
At the request of the family, the funeral services with be private.
