Jack Wince, 91, passed away May 25, 2013. He was born in Ritchie County W.V. to the late Francis Jr. and Lula (Newbrough), was a Navy veteran of World War II and retired from General Tire.

Jack was past Master of the Adoniram Joppa Masonic Lodge # 517 and was a member of The Chapel. He was also an avid hunter, enjoying time with his hunting dogs and an avid fisherman, making his own rods and lures.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Odel; sisters, Opal, Virginia (Orrville) Nichols, Vera (Teddy) McGinnis and Wilma (James) McMaster; nephew, Larry Nichols; and step-children, James Ashburn and Mildred Ashburn. He is survived by his nephew, Bruce McMaster; nieces, Patty Sue (Robert) McCullough, Trudy Anderson, Diane (Dale) McMaster-Perry and Connie (Scott) Hummer; step daughter-in-law, Mary Ann Ashburn; many step-grandchildren and great-grandchildren and step-nieces and nephews; and good friends, Robert Wheeler, Adam Campbell, John Springer, Bob Homer and Jerry and Rita Primm; and many nieces and nephews.

The family would like to thank The Chapel care department, Heather Knoll Retirement Village and Hospice VNS (nurse Becky).

The funeral service will be held on Tuesday, May 28, 2012 at 12 noon at the Eckard Baldwin Sanctuary Chapel, 760 E. Market St., with Pastor Steve Bucy officiating. Burial will follow at Northlawn Memorial Gardens where military honors will be conducted by American Legion Post 281. Calling hours will be on Monday, May 27, from 5 – 7 p.m. with a Masonic service at 6:45 p.m.
