James Robert Heavner passed away August 23, 2026 on his 79th birthday. He was born in Philippi, WV to the late George and Nora (Reynolds) Heavner and had previously worked in a bakery. He graduated from Buckhannon-Upshur High School in Buckhannon, WV and was baptized at Arlington Church in Upshur County, WV.
He is survived by his wife, Sandra; sisters, Betty Smith, Louise Slaton and Frances France; brother, George Heavner; 2 sons; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by sisters, Shirley Mastin, Velva Smith, Ethel Rohrbaugh and brother Richard Heavner.
