Jane R. Ankeny, 93, passed away December 10, 2013. She was born in Lakemore, OH to the late Byron and Carrie (Diehl) Manhart and was a graduate of Springfield High School. She retired from the chemical division at Goodyear with 30 years of service and was a life member and past President of the Army and Navy Union Auxiliary 273.
Jane loved the outdoors, especially being at the beach, as well as golfing, bowling and gambling.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Warden V; sisters, Ilene Troutman and Carolyn Marko; and brother, Stan Manhart. She is survived by her children, Dick Ankeny (Sally), Brenda (Bob) Weber and Tina (Paul) Hershberger; 7 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren; sisters, Wilma Bush, Donna “Sis” Wright and Mary (Mike) Kuberka; Sheri Conrad; brother-in-law, Steve Marko; and many loving relatives and friends.
A memorial service will be held on Friday, December 27, 2013 at 1 p.m. at Hillside Memorial Park, 1025 Canton Rd. Akron, OH 44312. Donations may be made to AseraCare Hospice of Akron 2820 W. Market St. Suite 100 Akron, OH 44333.
