Jean Lucille Scheck, 83, passed away November 21, 2012. She was born in Obetz, OH to the late Fred Francis and Alma Elizabeth (Mott) Sherman and was a graduate of Groveport High School. She moved to Akron in 1947 and retired from Edwin Shaw Hospital in 1989 as a data processing coordinator.
Upon retirement, she moved to Florida and continued working (in billing) in several doctor’s offices until 2004.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Jack; brothers, Daniel and Don; and sisters, Mary and Wanda. She is survived by her children, Melinda McElfresh, Jack II, Jennie Rodriguez (Richard) and Martin (Cindy); 9 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren; and special friends, Kevin and Karen Snyder, Mary Shipley and Pamela Dillon.
The funeral service will be held on Monday, November 26, 2012 at 11 a.m. at the Eckard Baldwin Sanctuary Chapel, 760 E. Market St., with Rev. Michael Mancari officiating. Interment at Hillside Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at the funeral home for ONE HOUR prior to the service, from 10 – 11 a.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Chapel Hill Retirement Community, 12200 Strausser St., Canal Fulton, OH 44614.
