Jerry D. Strickland Sr., 64, passed away September 16, 2013. He was born in Charleston, WV to the late Eugene and Juanita (Young) and was an Akron resident for most of his life. He worked at Goodyear Aerospace/LORAL for many years and was a very spiritual man.
Preceded in death by his brother, Louie, Jerry is survived by his wife of 28 years, Lavonne; sons, Jerry Jr. (Kerri), William (Cindy), Michael and Christopher; 12 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren; brothers, Larry (Linda), Timothy (Tina), Randy (Linda); and sister-in-law, Kay.
The funeral service will be held on Friday, September 20, 2013 at 1 p.m. at the Eckard Baldwin Sanctuary Chapel, 760 E. Market St., with Rev. Raymond Jones officiating. Interment at Rose Hill Burial Park. Calling hours will be for TWO HOURS prior to the service, from 11 am – 1 pm. The family invites everyone to a luncheon following the committal at the Portage Lakes Eagles Hall 5899 Manchester Rd., Akron, OH 44319.
