A beacon of light for our family went out on November 23, 2017, when Joann Davis died from an on-going illness. She was born on December 20, 1949 in Akron to childhood sweethearts William and Alberta Ostrowske. Joann was married for many years to her high-school sweetheart, James ‘Jimmy’ Davis. They may not have always lived in the same house together, but they remained devoted to one another to her last day.
They had three wild wonderful children, Aaron (Netty), Jack (Debbie), and Ethan (Ali). She is also survived by her sister, Anita (Mark) Kasunic, and her aunt, Joanne (Roy) Wells.
She loved her grandchildren, her dog Suzy, and fried chicken, in that order
After her kids were all in school, she added to her homemaker duties by going to nursing school and then spent 40 years in her chosen field.
Like most of us, she tried her best – sometimes that was good enough and sometimes it was not. Which leaves us with so many colorful stories to tell.
Calling hours will be held on Sunday, November 26, 2017 from 2 - 4 p.m. at the Eckard Baldwin Funeral Home and Chapel, 760 E. Market St.
