JoAnne Gifford, 75, passed away after a short-term illness with cancer on September 30, 2011. She was born in Akron and was a life-long resident. She was a member of the Akron Arid Club for over 30 years and donated a tremendous amount of her time and friendship to fellow members.
JoAnne was a devoted mother that took great pride in raising her children and often worked three jobs to support her family and provide them with their every need.
Preceded in death by her husband, Bernie, mother Mary (Klimaszewski) Jones and several brothers and sisters, she is survived by her children, Deborah (Dean), Michael and Danny (Pauline), and three grandchildren, Nicole, Joshua, and Ashleigh.
A private ceremony is to be held out of state for family members only.
