John H. Ladany

John H. Ladany, 88, passed away September 2, 2023. He was born in Clarksbug, WV to the late Louis and Dorothy (Moore) Ladany, moved to Akron in 1945, and was a proud Navy veteran of the Korean War, earning two combat medals.

John worked for General  Tire for 26 years and retired from Kent State University with 30 years of service. He was also a member of the Kent American Legion.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Robert. He is survived by his daughters, Kymberly and Lisa; life partner Barbara Kester and her children, Robin, Jodi, Earl and David; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and half-sister, Charlotte.

A graveside memorial service will be held on Wedneday, September 13, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. at Greenlawn Memorial Park, 2580 Romig Rd., Akron, OH 44320.
