John Malachosky, age 101, went to heaven to be reunited with his wife, Clara, on April 12, 2012. He was born in Jerome, PA to the late Alex and Anna (Labey) and was an Akron resident for most of his life.
The most important part of his life was his love for his wife and children. Knowing that the Hope he had in God’s Word, that they will reunite in Heaven someday soon. I Thessalonians 4:13 – 18.
Mr. Malachosky was the last living student from the first full graduating class at Garfield High School and he later worked for many years at AC Machine. He played baseball for the Akron Collegians, loved doing woodwork and was devoted to helping his family, including his weekly visits to his sister, Julie. John was also a long-time, active member of the Apostolic Church of Barberton, where much of his woodworking is utilized today.
In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Mike and Joe. He is survived by his children, Maxine and David; sister, Julie Remis; brothers, Jim, of CA, Steve (Evelyn) and Charlie (Simone); and many loving relatives and friends.
Calling hours will be held on Monday, April 16, 2012 from 4 – 7 p.m. at the Apostolic Church of Barberton, 1717 W. Turkeyfoot Lake Rd., Akron, OH 44319. The funeral service will be held at the church on Tuesday, April 17, at 11 a.m. with Pastor Rodney Pamer officiating. Interment at Rose Hill Burial Park. The family requests no flowers, but rather, donations to the Apostolic Church of Barberton Building Fund.
