John D. Marshall

John D. Marshall, 80, passed away February 27, 2025. He was born in Akron October 31, 1944 to the late Everett and Annie (Askew) Marshall and was a North High School graduate.

John retired from the automotive industry, a career he thoroughly enjoyed, and was also a police officer for 15 years for the Akron Police Department. He was a long-time, active member and Past Master of the Coventry-Akron Masonic Lodge #83, and loved fishing trips and M.A.S.H.

He is survived by his wife of 40 years, Diana; children, Scott, Christopher (Robin) and Leeann; extended family, Patti Marshall and Stephanie (Thomas) Piacella; grandchildren, Jessica (Zack), Jonathan (Jenny), Patrick, Hope (Matt) Fisher, Nola Grace, Phoebe and Sebastian; great-grandchildren, Andrew, Skylar, Audrey, Emily, Cameron and Kaden; sister, Sherry Stout; and many other loving relatives and friends.

Calling hours will be held on Wednesday, March 5, 2025 from 4 – 7 p.m. at the Eckard Baldwin Funeral Home and Chapel, 760 E. Market St., Akron, OH 44305 with a Masonic service at 6:30 p.m. The funeral service will be held at the funeral home on Thursday, March 6 at 11 a.m. with Don Bolich officiating. Burial to follow at Hillside Memorial Park.
