John J. Mccann Jr.

John J. McCann Jr., 86, passed away June 2, 2023. He was born in Akron to the late John Sr. and Geraldine (Young) McCann and was a proud Army veteran, serving as a paratrooper in the 82nd Airborne. John had previously worked as a trucker for Chemical Layman and served over 20 years with the Akron Board of Education.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Roger, and many aunts and uncles. He is survived by his children, Tracy (Jesus F.) Montes, John P. McCann, Kristine Jessop, Marna McCann and Paige McCann; grandchildren  Amelia Montes, E'Lena Degtyar, Jessica Romero, Ryan McCann, Lillian Harris ; many great-grandchildren; and his beloved dog, Nacho.

Per his wishes, cremation has taken place.
