Joseph M. Michaelson Jr., 76, passed away August 7, 2012. He was born in Youngwood, PA. to the late Joseph Sr. and Stella (Dumbauld) Michaelson, and lived in Akron and Florida since 2001. Mr. Michaelson retired from Westinghouse with 36 years service as an engineer; he was also an avid golfer playing in leagues at Barberton Brookside Country Club and in Florida.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Norma Jean in 1989. He is survived by his wife, Bernice; daughters, Kathy Jo (Bryan) Lowrie, and Tracy Michaelson; grandchildren, Kevin, Maura, and Nicole; brother, John (Connie); step-children, Denise (Floyd) Parsson, Ed (Kay) Graham; step-grandchildren, Richard (Ann Marie), Jay (Erica), Luke, Denny, and Lori; and step-great-grandson, Liam; as well as many loving friends and relatives.
A graveside service will be Saturday, August 11, 2012 at Calvary Episcopal Churchyard, with Rev. Michael Greenauer officiating. The family will recieve friends from 11:00 - 12:00 in the Arden Chapel of Morris Funeral Home, 2393 Hendersonville Road.
The family requests that in lieu of flowers donations be made to Hospice Care Center, 3358 Ridgewood Rd. Fairlawn Ohio 44333, or to a charity of one’s choice in remembrance of Joe.
