Julia Margaret Gorham, 92, passed away peacefully April 19, 2012. She was born October 2, 1919 in Denholm, PA, a daughter of the late John Andrew Fisher and Isa Dora Renninger. She was a long-time resident of Garrettsville, OH and moved to Buckeye, AZ 2 years ago to live with her daughter.
Julia was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles for over 40 years and enjoyed traveling, bingo, playing cards, watching Jeopardy, mystery novels, crocheting and eating her jelly beans.
She was preceded in death by her daughters, Maryann (Larry) Wilson and Judy Gorham; son, Charles W. Jr. (Helen) Somosko; brothers, Cloyd Renninger and Ralph Fisher; first husband, Charles W. Somosko Sr. and second husband of 51 years, Alvin T. Gorham. She is survived by her daughters, Isadora (Don) Gray, of Stow and Patricia (Joe) Hantzsche, of Buckeye, AZ; son, Alvin (Cathy) Gorham, of Ravenna; 14 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and 4 great-great grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held on Friday, May 4, 2012 at 7 p.m. at the Eckard Baldwin Sanctuary Chapel, 760 E. Market St., Akron, OH 44305. The family will receive friends at the funeral home for 2 hours prior to the service, from 5 – 7 p.m. Private interment at East Akron Cemetery.
