Katharine Buhlmann

Katharine Buhlmann, 84, passed away February 19, 2019. She was born in Romania and migrated to Germany and on to Poland and back to Germany before moving to the United States in February of 1969. She first lived in Massachusetts before moving to Florida and finally, to Cuyahoga Falls to be in the services at Grace Cathedral.

Katharine was a skilled seamstress, working many years in a clothing factory. While in Florida she worked at Ponderosa, where she won a trip to Hawaii.  She was also a member of Grace Cathedral for sixteen years, where she utilized her skills by making dresses which were donated as far away as Africa. She also volunteered at the Cathedral Buffet washing laundry.

Preceded in death by her brother, Peter, and sister, Barbara, she is survived by her children, Otto W. (Cindy) Buhlmann, Franz J. (Tera) Buhlmann, Rudolph (Cherilyn) Buhlmann and Tatjana Walker; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren, sisters, Herta and Anni Danforth; caregiver and dear friend, Linda Liston; her little German friend and many other relatives and friends.

The funeral service will be held on Saturday, February 23, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. at the Eckard Baldwin Funeral Home and Chapel, 760 E. Market St., with Rev. Rick Boley officiating. Calling hours will be at the funeral home for one hour prior to the service, from 10 – 11 a.m. Private burial will be at Glendale Cemetery at a later date.
