Kelvin L. Wims Sr.

Kelvin L. Wims, 63, passed away February 25, 2023. He was born and raised in Akron, Ohio and graduated from Buchtel High School. He was a professional guitarist and vocalist, and was a skilled craftsmen with many talents. He was highly intelligent, with a colorful and lively spirit. He is survived by his children,, La’Keshea, Kelvin Jr., Ayeshia, and Alexander; grandchildren, E’Lexus, Keisean, Olivia, Alayah, Donileo, Jonathan, Davion, Za’rae, Imania, Adonis and Aunyx; great-grandchildren, Carson and Carmelo; brothers, John Jr. and Troy (Latoya) Looney; special friend, Gloria; and many other loving relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his mother, Alease Wims (John) Looney; father, Walter Gates; brother, Grady Wims; and sister, Kristy Bailey. He will truly be missed.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, March 9, 2023 from 10 a.m. – 12 noon, at the Eckard Baldwin Funeral Home and Chapel, 760 E. Market St., Akron, OH 44305. A memorial service will follow at 12 noon. Memorials and cards of condolence may be sent to the family c/o Ayeshia Wims 677 Moon St., Akron, OH 44307.
