Kenneth V. Hinchee, 62, passed away November 25, 2012. He was born in Akron to the late Arnold and Dorothy (Killinger) and was a graduate of Garfield High School. He earned a bachelors degree from the University of Akron and retired from Continental Tire (formerly General Tire) with 35 years of service.
Ken was an Eagle Scout in Troop 32 and was currently serving as Committee Chairperson. He was also an active member of Family of Faith United Methodist Church and was a 44-year member of the Akron Derbytown Barbershop Chorus.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Lawrence and James. He is survived by his loving wife, Lois; children, Scott, Jeffrey and Kelly; granddaughter, Josey; uncle, William Hoffman; and his loving nieces, nephews and friends.
The funeral service will be held on Friday, November 30, 2012 at 11 a.m. at Family of Faith United Methodist Church, 800 E. Market St., with Rev. Ron Shultz and Rev. Ron Mowry officiating. Interment at Greenlawn Memorial Park. Calling hours will be on Thursday, November 29, from 4 – 7 p.m. at the Eckard Baldwin Funeral Home, 760 E. Market St., and for one hour prior to the funeral on Friday at the church, from 10 – 11 a.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Family of Faith Scholarship Fund, 800 E.
