Lantz “Jack” Mollohan, 93, passed away February 12, 2014, in Atlantis, Florida. He was born in Servia, West Virginia, to the late Camden and Minnie Mollohan, and lived in Akron since 1945, where he was a long time member of Millheim Baptist Church.
Jack was a WW II US Army veteran and was awarded the Purple Heart for wounds received in action. Mr. Mollohan worked as an industrial hose builder for Goodyear from 1945 until his retirement in 1980. He moved to Florida in 2001, enjoying his retirement.
He is survived by his wife of 68 years, Iva; daughters, Peggy (Don) Agner and Joann (Bob Soifer) Pickering; grandchildren, Dawn (Mac) Settipani, Melissa (Dave) Smallwood and Jason (Renee) Lancaster; step-grandchildren, Johnna Oneal and Jeni (Scott) Orum; and great-grandchildren, Naomi and Wyatt Lancaster, Samantha and Grace Smallwood and Sean and Abbey Oneal.
The funeral service will be Monday, February 17, 2014, at 11 a.m., at the Eckard Baldwin Sanctuary Chapel, 760 E. Market St., with Pastor Kim Lawrence officiating. Interment at Hillside Memorial Park where military honors will be conducted by American Legion Post #281. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday, February 16, from 2 to 4 p.m.
