Lee E. Neal Jr.

Lee E. Neal Jr., 80, passed away June 18, 2026. He was born in Philadelphia, PA and was a proud Vietnam veteran in the US Navy.

Lee retired from United Transport Industries with 39 years of service and was a member of Albrecht Church of God. He was also extremely active in the community. He was past president of the McKinley Stamp Club, was a past senator with the Jaycees, was involved as an EdZooCator with the Akron Zoo and belonged to the Hartville Photo Club. He will be deeply missed.

Preceded in death by his mother, Henrietta “Peggy” (Jerry) Lesperance and father, Lee Sr., he is survived by his wife of 16 years, Elizabeth; daughter, Erica Chapman; son, Edward; and grandchildren, Sarah, Lilia, Logan, Maia and Carson.

The funeral service will be held on Tuesday, June 23, 2026 at 11 a.m. at the Eckard Baldwin Funeral Home and Chapel, 760 E. Market St., Akron, OH 44305 with Pastor Robert Drummond officiating. Calling hours will be at the funeral home for one hour prior to the service, from 10 – 11 a.m. with burial and military honors by American Legion Post 281 at Northlawn Memorial Park in North Canton.
