Linda K. (Shackelford) Rush, 67, went home to be with the Lord January 7, 2015. She was born in Akron on June 28, 1947 to the late Robert and Edna (Nester) Shackelford and was a Tallmadge High School graduate.
Linda worked at Akron University, B.F. Goodrich and Rubber City Printing, and loved attending church at the Akron Baptist Temple. She will be remembered for her great sense of humor and her love of animals.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her siblings, Eddie and Barbara, and nephews, Matthew and Bill. She is survived by her beloved husband of nearly 46 years, Stanley; sisters, Beverly and Bonnie Shackelford; brother, Robert (Diane) Shackelford; special friend, Mary Lou Clark; and numerous nieces and nephews.
The family wishes to thank her doctors and nurses for all the care they provided her.
The funeral service will be held on Saturday, January 10, 2015 at 11 a.m. at the Eckard Baldwin Funeral Home & Chapel, 760 E. Market St., with Rev. Mike Prebynski officiating. Calling hours will be for one hour prior to the service, from 10 – 11 a.m. with burial at Hillside Memorial Park.
