Linda Lee Sunyak, 67, passed away November 1, 2015 (All Saints’ Day) with her loving husband by her side. Born in Cleveland to the late LeRoy and Lois (Green) Smith, she lived most of her life in the Akron area. Linda earned Bachelor’s Degrees from both Kent State and the University of Akron in fashion design and teaching. She taught Family and Consumer Science for over 18 years with the Akron Public Schools and loved sewing and quilting. Linda truly enjoyed traveling with her husband Greg as they visited 35 states. Their most memorable trips to Alaska and Hawaii were accompanied by their grandson, Mitchell. She also loved baking, especially when teaching her granddaughter Sophie ‘Baking 101’ those yummy treats for Papa! Linda is survived by her loving husband of 45 years, Greg; son, Chris (Carla); daughter, Becky (Kevin) Drouhard; grandson, Mitchell, her “Munchkin” and granddaughter, Sophia, her “Little Petunia”; along with numerous other family and friends. The funeral service will be held on Thursday, November 5, 2015 at 11:00 am at the Eckard Baldwin Funeral Home & Chapel, 760 E. Market St. Akron, OH 44305. Friends may call on Wednesday, November 4 from 5 – 8 p.m. at the funeral home and also for ONE HOUR prior to the service on Thursday, from 10 – 11 a.m.
