Linda L. Yates

Linda L. Yates, 81, went home to be with her Lord Jesus May 6, 2024. She was born in Kansas City, MO to the late Ivan and Virginia (Powell) Lyon and worked at Akron City Hospital and local nursing homes as a nurse’s aid. She was also a member of Maranatha Bible Church, where she was involved in the S.A.L.T. ABF.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Jacob; granddaughters, Christina and Rachel Ward; and sisters, Mary and Peggy. She is survived by her children, Cynthia, Jeffrey and Edward (Heather); grandchildren, Jennifer (Brett), Jeffrey Jr., Joseph, Crystal, and Brittany (Richard); 10 great-grandchildren; sister, Barbara Snyder; and several nieces and nephews.

The funeral service will be held on Thursday, May 9, 2024 at 11 a.m. at the Eckard Baldwin Funeral Home and Chapel, 760 E. Market St., Akron, OH 44305 with Pastor Don Rohbacher officiating. Calling hours will be held at the funeral home for one hour prior to the service, from 10 – 11 a.m., with burial at Greenlawn Memorial Park.
