Lloyd G. Elefritz, 82, passed away January 5, 2013. He was born in Richwood, WV to the late Frank and Nancy (Fuller) and was an Akron resident since 1962.

Lloyd was a Korean War hero, earning two Purple Hearts, and he retired from General Motors with 23 years of service. He was a life member of the Purple Heart Association and he belonged to the DAV, the American Legion and the VFW.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Leslie, Robert and Jim. He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Sophie; children, Lloyd Jr., Connie Kuzmik, Gary and David; grandchildren, Nick, Mat, Krystal (Joey), Erin, Kristin, Sara, Kayla, Gary II, Ed and Ryan; great-grandson, Vance; brother, William (Bobbie); and sister-in-law, Helen.

The funeral service will be held on Thursday, January 10, 2013 at 11 a.m. at the Eckard Baldwin Sanctuary Chapel, 760 E. Market St. Interment with military honors at Hillside Memorial Park. Calling hours will be on Wednesday, January 9, from 5 – 8 p.m. The family requests no flowers – please make a donation to the charity of your choice in honor of Lloyd.
